Hawick Rugby Club's Green Event - 7th March

A few weeks ago I was talked into taking a stall for BOG at this event, to be held at Hawick RFC's ground in Mansfield Road, Hawick on Saturday 7th March. If you missed Potato Day on Sunday you have a second chance to buy some seed potatoes, as I have 10 varieties that didn't sell out and I will be selling them on the BOG stand.

In addition to the Hawick v Melrose game,  there will be an interesting range of side shows in the Green Village.

Saturday's exhibitors will introduce you to a host of new practical ideas.
* See how much heat you lose from your body – view your thermal image on the giant plasma screen in the Bar.
* Find out what grants and aids are available to insulate your home and business, saving you money.
* Learn how to compost your waste and become an organic gardener.
* Consider the versatility of solar energy.
* Assess the threats of climate change and peak oil.
* Slash your energy costs.
* Be enthralled by the Border Bogie gravity racer.
* Enjoy live music from the Teribuskers and the Scout Pipe Band.
* See the benefits of new forms of clean renewable energy production for Hawick.
* And for kids there’s a bouncy castle and face painting.
* Finally, don’t forget to collect your free energy-efficient light bulb.

 I've lifted the section above from the website to save you the trouble of going there, but you will find more detail, including match times, at http://www.hawickrfc.co.uk/ph_greenday.htm

If anyone would like to help me run the BOG stand I think there is the possibility of a free Alistair Pow pie - but it may be a Lyndsey Grieve pie... Volunteer to give me a hand and find out!
