Had my first fresh greens of the year from the garden at the weekend. That was the good news.

The bad news was that the weight of snow had bent my purple sprouting broccoli so that the stems had buckled just above ground level. I salvaged some of the tops and enjoyed these - but I'm not sure how much of my crop will make it through to the proper time for cutting. Ah well - they were too densely planted anyway, and needed a bit of thining. :sigh:

That was February or March, I think. Yesterday (11th May) we ate the entire crop in on [0]e sitting. See the picture!
